Frequently Asked Questions

  • Scalp oil? We'd put it in a 100 ml amber dropper bottle with a glass pipette. Or black, when the label's dark and the bottle ought to match. Ever left bhringraj oil by a sunny window? Three weeks on, it's gone pale and smells off. Amber stops most of that UV. Black stops nearly all of it, but you can't see how much oil is left. If people pour it into a palm, put a pump on the same 18 mm bottle; our hair oil bottles page has them.
  • Squeeze the rubber teat, let go, and up comes the oil. About 1 ml sits in the pipette of a 100 ml bottle. Now part the hair. Put the glass tip right on the skin and squeeze slowly as you drag it along the parting, then move a finger's width across and repeat. Two or three pipette loads covers most heads. Rub it in with your fingertips. A euro dropper's different: no teat, no pipette, you tip it and wait for the drop.
  • Picture your customer using it. Drops or a measured dose? Dropper. A palmful? Pump. You get about 1 ml per pipette, which is fine for a scalp serum, a tonic or a diluted essential oil blend, and painfully slow for a body or massage oil, where one press of a pump does the job. The nice part: both fit our round 100 ml dropper bottles, because they share the 18 mm neck, and so does a euro dropper insert. One oil, several ways, same glass. Our massage oil bottles show the pump versions.
  • Roughly 2,000, if the oil's thin. That's a hundred full pipettes. Castor oil, say, comes out in fat, slow drops, so you get fewer. A scalp serum used two or three nights a week runs out in six to eight weeks from a 100 ml dropper bottle; used for massage, it's six to ten full-body sessions. Fill to the shoulder, never the neck. Otherwise oil slops over the rim when the pipette goes in.
  • 3.4 US fl oz. So a 3.4 oz dropper bottle on an export enquiry? This one. Loads of hair oil launches start at 100 ml: a month or two of oil, and it still fits in a handbag. Don't go by a size chart for your labels, though. Our round, calibrated and amber matte-pipette 100 ml bottles all stand a little differently, so measure your sample first.
  • A dropper bottle whose pipette has ml marks on it. Your customer reads the dose off the glass instead of counting drops. We've got two, 100 ml amber and 100 ml cobalt blue. Who buys them? Mostly practitioners who write "take 2 ml" on a prescription; they want the calibrated one. Happy counting drops? A plain pipette's cheaper.
  • Amber or black. Especially for a cold-pressed or herbal oil that'll sit on an open shelf. Amber cuts most UV. Black cuts nearly all of it. Our frosted amber 100 ml is amber with a matte skin. Blue and green? To be honest, people buy those for the colour, and more light gets in. Clear is gorgeous with golden almond oil and the worst for protection. We'd only use clear oil bottles when there's a carton round them, or the oil keeps well anyway.
  • All our round 100 ml bottles have an 18 mm neck, except the amber matte-pipette bottle, which is 20 mm. On the 18 mm ones, 18 mm pipette sets, euro dropper inserts, a lotion pump or a spray pump all screw straight on. Get the 100 ml pipette set and not a shorter one; the glass tube is cut to the bottle's height. The calibrated ones? Their marked pipette's already screwed in when they reach you.
  • Yes. Just choose the cap with the trip in mind. An 18 mm euro dropper under a screw cap seals tightest, which is why nearly every couriered essential oil uses it. A pipette dropper seals fine when it's screwed down, yet if the parcel gets crushed and the teat is pressed, oil comes out, so send those standing up with a little headspace. A 100 ml bottle with its dropper is about 105 g. We pack every order for glass.
  • Rs 20 to Rs 41 a piece, for a 100 ml glass dropper bottle on our site. The glass, and whether you want a pipette, a euro dropper or a calibrated pipette, decide where it lands. There's no minimum on ready stock: buy any quantity, starting from one, and the price per piece drops as you buy more of one design. Every order is paid in full at booking. The minimum for logo printing or painting is 1,000 pieces. For a big run, WhatsApp or call us on +91 75500 42423. In-stock orders leave Chennai within 3 working days with a GST invoice.

Is a dropper right for a 100 ml bottle?

Depends what your customer does with the oil. A pipette on a 100 ml bottle pulls up about 1 ml a squeeze. Great for a scalp serum you run along the parting, a hair tonic, the salon back bar. Great for a measured Ayurvedic dose too, and that's exactly what the calibrated bottle is for. For a body oil that people pour into their palm, though, a pipette is painfully slow. Put a pump on instead. Same bottle. See our hair oil bottles and massage oil bottles. Used two or three times a week, a 100 ml glass dropper bottle for oil lasts six to eight weeks, about when most hair oil brands expect a reorder.

Necks and caps

All the round 100 ml bottles here have an 18 mm neck except one: the amber matte-pipette bottle, which is 20 mm. On the 18 mm bottles, our 18 mm pipette sets, euro dropper inserts and lotion pump caps all screw on, so one 100 ml glass bottle can be sold with a dropper or with a pump without changing the glass. Buying spares? Get the 100 ml pipette set. A shorter one won't reach the bottom, because the glass tube is cut to the bottle's height. Our 100 ml calibrated dropper bottles come with the marked pipette already screwed in.
