Anything light would spoil. Herbal and cold-pressed hair oils, pure essential oils, a vitamin C or retinol serum: the black glass keeps the light off them, and the pipette lets them out a few drops at a time. Yes, and better than amber. Black glass blocks nearly all of it. The one trade-off: you can't see the fill level, so tell your customer to count drops or go by weight. Want to show the oil and still cut most UV? Our 100 ml amber glass dropper bottle does that.

About 2,000 drops if the oil's thin. Each full pipette is roughly 1 ml, so 20 drops; a thick oil gives you fewer, fatter drops. As a 2 ml scalp or body oil, a 100 ml dropper bottle does around 50 applications. Print the drop count on the label. Customers want it.

People call it a pipette: glass tube, collar, rubber teat. It comes on the bottle already. Pick Gold + White, Gold + Black, Silver + Black, Silver + White or all Black; the first colour's the collar, the second's the teat. Because the neck is 18 mm, our 18 mm pipette sets (100 ml length), euro dropper inserts, lotion pumps and spray pumps fit it too.

Standing on a shelf, it won't. Thrown in a courier bag, it can. A pipette was made to dispense, not to seal: tip the bottle over or press the teat and oil gets out. Fill to the shoulder, pack it upright, teat up, with a shrink band over the neck. Shipping black glass bottles loose every day? Put an 18 mm euro dropper and screw cap on instead; there's no minimum on those.

No, they're straight from the factory cartons and not washed. Wash the black glass bottles, pipettes, collars and teats in warm water with a mild detergent, then rinse well. Sterilise with a 70% isopropyl alcohol rinse, or hot water on the glass parts; don't boil the rubber teats. Let everything dry, necks down, before a single drop goes in.
